The Bristol accountants point to April 2027 as the date company cars, vans and medical benefits move into real-time payroll reporting.
From 6 April 2027, employers will be required to report company cars, vans, fuel and employer-provided medical benefits through payroll in real time, replacing the annual P11D for those benefits. Milsted Langdon, our neighbours in the membership, is encouraging businesses to begin preparing now rather than in the new tax year.
Ed Mole, Assistant Payroll Manager at the firm, cautions that late preparation risks reporting errors, penalties and a rise in confused queries from employees. Handled well, he suggests, the change should simplify reporting and make tax codes easier to understand.
Sensible, timely counsel from a member who knows the territory. The full note is on Milsted Langdon's own site.
