Amendments to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 took effect on 29 June, brought in through the Crime & Policing Act 2026 — and Milsted Langdon's forensic team has set out what they mean. The courts now work to a statutory objective of stripping defendants of criminal benefit; the criminal lifestyle threshold falls from three qualifying offences to two; and where benefit outstrips known assets, the court must value hidden property and add it to the recoverable sum.
